Level 2 Obedience
Transition to Off-Leash Confidence
Level 2 is designed for dogs who have mastered the basics and are ready for the next challenge. This class focuses on strengthening reliability, improving impulse control, and building the skills needed to safely transition into off-leash work.
We take the foundation from Level 1 and elevate it — increasing distractions, extending distances, and reinforcing obedience even when your dog isn’t right beside you.
What Your Dog Will Learn
Your dog will refine and strengthen all foundational commands while learning to respond with fewer physical cues and more independence. This includes:
Off-leash recall development
Longer-distance “Sit,” “Down,” and “Stand”
Improved Heel and Finish positions
Advanced “Look” for focus during distractions
Impulse control around other dogs, sounds, and movement
Skill Development
Off-Leash Transition Work:We build toward controlled freedom by practicing recall, stays, and position changes at increasing distances. Dogs learn how to listen reliably even without a leash guiding them.
Leash-to-No-Leash Training:We start on leash, move to long lines, and slowly progress to supervised off-leash work when appropriate. Safety is always the priority.
Distraction Proofing:Your dog learns to stay focused during real-life challenges — other dogs, people, new objects, different environments, and added noise or movement.
Who This Class Is For
Dogs who have completed Level 1 or equivalent basic obedience
Owners who want to confidently enjoy off-leash parks, trails, or open spaces
Dogs who need better self-control around distractions
Anyone wanting a more reliable, trustworthy companion in everyday situations
By the end of Level 2, you’ll have a dog who listens with confidence, responds consistently, and is well on their way to safe, responsible off-leash freedom.
