Obedience Training Level 1 Complete!

Updated: Jun 23

May 9th - May 11th, 2025

Obedience Class Overview

We recently completed a series of three obedience training sessions, where we learned a total of eight essential commands. These commands are fundamental for ensuring effective communication between us and our dogs, enhancing their behavior and our overall experience together.

Commands Learned

During the sessions, we focused on the following commands:

  • Come

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Stand

  • Here

  • Look

  • Finish

  • Heel

Each command serves a specific purpose, helping our dogs understand what is expected of them in various situations.

Leash Work

In addition to the commands, we also dedicated time to leash work. This aspect of training is crucial for teaching our dogs to walk calmly and obediently beside us, making outings more enjoyable and manageable. Proper leash work ensures that our dogs remain safe and well-behaved in public spaces.

Socialization

Socialization was another key component of our obedience classes. Interacting with other dogs and people helps our pets develop confidence and good manners. This experience not only improves their behavior but also enhances their comfort level in different environments.

Conclusion

Overall, these three sessions provided us with valuable skills and techniques to strengthen our bond with our dogs. The combination of learning commands, practicing leash work, and socializing has set a solid foundation for further training and a harmonious relationship.

Remember, just 15 mins a day goes a long way for both you and your furry companion!
